Hello All,

As you can probably tell from the lack of updates Today's Hot Topics is taking a little break. We are not sure when it will be back or even if it will be back. It may come back in a different from than what it currently is. It may not even involve the same people. It may not ever come about again.

Thanks to everybody for their support for this podcast. Sandy and I had a lot of fun doing it. Maybe someday we will do it again.

In the mean time feel free to browse through our archives. You can listen to us from our humble beginnings to when we got on CBC through to my move to New York City.

It seems I am spending less and less of my time on the computer now a days. I don't know if that means I'm bored with the internet or that I am just too busy working and doing other stuff. I seem tired all the time.
Any how. This week we talk about my birthday (which was yesterday), there is a TomKat update and of course the WoW (Word of the Week). It's a fun show so be sure to check it out.
Sandy and I are hitting the big time. We are going to be on network radio. CBC to be exact. Starting June 25th we are broadcasting across Canada. I will be sure to keep you posted.

It's Monday night! No podcast?! What, are these people getting lazy or something? Have they given up on the podcasting idea? What is going on here?

Well. To be as blunt as possible. We are busy. Sandy is writing exams at the moment and when he isn't writing exams he is studying for exams which he is about to write. Me, myself happened to pick up a lot of different work right after coming back to Whitehorse which has kept me out of the podcast office (bedroom) for a while.

I am hoping to chat with Sandy tomorrow morning about what we should do. Expect a change in the release schedule of the cast and maybe the reduction to just two a week instead of three. We can record a show tomorrow too and that will tell all.

Sorry to all you eager fans. I know you deserve better but hey, have you looked at who you are relying on to do this thing?! I can't even spell "praters" right. Anyways. Thanks for the patience again. I hope to resolve all soon.

Technical Difficulties

Ok so the last post was an April Fools joke if you didn't notice. Sandy isn't dead and we will continue. Or will we? Or isn't he?

We ran into a bit of a technical difficulty while recording todays show. It was just a dumb thing on my part. I forgot to hit the button that would record Sandy's voice. So what we got was a Hot Topics with only me talking. Now being the lazy people that we are we didn't feel like recording it again that very second. So we let it slide.

What I am posting this Monday is a short clip of me talking to myself. Or what it sounds like. I think I was so distraught over the death of my friend that I decided to try and do a show by myself.

Hopefully the CBC Topics will be released on Wednesday or some time before Friday. Anyways. Enjoy me being an idiot.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I have news.

Our beloved friend and my cohost Sandy suddenly passed away last night during a drunken car ride. He decided to take the wheel and ended up taking his own life in the proccess. We will all mourn his loss.

This means the end of Hot Topics. I cannot continue without Sandy. He is what made the show original and funny. So this is it. Hot Topics #21 will be our last episode. I may put together a tribute show to Sandy with all of his funniest moments but besides that this site will be shut down and sold.

I want to thank all our fans who have stuck with us. Everyone who wrote in and said we were funny and Michael who always gave us funny voicemail. You all helped make this site great. Thank you all so much.

I leave you remembering one of Sandy's funniest moments on the show. Just closes your eyes and imgine: "It's The Tech Bit"

Just a quick update

I like to update everyone when I change the site around a bit. Just so you know what is happening and don't freak out. I do things in an attempt to make everything run smoother and look better. Some day I will actually try to clean up the mess of coding I have hacked and slashed into what you see here. But that day is not today because it is 12:43 AM my time and 3:43 AM Sandy's time...and I wouldn't let Sandy touch the code with a ten-foot pole. Like the Grinch.

Anyways.

I took a long hard look at the Episodes section of the side bar. And it just... seemed a little too big. And confusing. Basically they way it was set up was lame. You had to look through that list of hideous orange to find a show you wanted then once you were on that show page you had to go back to the home page to view another show. Lame. I originally wanted to do a drop down menu style thereby freeing up a lot of space. I have done some neat dropdown menus before and figured this could be an interesting implementation. Wrong. After spending the day yelling at my menus and visiting a child's second birthday party. It dawned on me. Categories. I already put categories on all my posts. This post is under the category "Site News" because its news...about the site. All the podcasts are catagorized by the date they are (or should be) released. So I just used the categories that were already there. Now if you click on "Monday" lets say you will get all the CBC Hot Topics that have been posted so far. The same goes with the other ones. So there you go. If you want to go back and check out some shows you may have missed, be my guest.

Wow this turned out to be way longer than I thought it would. I must be delirious.

I also changed the google ads. Mine has ads for punk rock stuff. I wonder why?

Why are you seeing this? Why are things weird? What the hell is going on? Hopefully you are not asking yourself any of these questions. I just moved the website to a new home. Right after I post this I am going to officially change it and block off the sbgood.blogspot.com address. There might be some weird stuff happening. If you notice anyhting please give me a shout. I changed the feed for iTunes to this one. That might mean you will get all the old shows coming up as new again. I recommend just ignoring it. You shouldn't have to deal with that more than one time. Anyways, enjoy the new site. It should look exactly like the old one, if everything worked properly.

I know you are all itching for content. It's Wednesday. Where is my Preshow? What is happening?! Well let me tell you. I went to prison yesterday. ALCATRAZ. I'm in San Francisco for the moment so recording and editing and having time to visit cool places is becoming difficult to balance. Do not worry though. I have thought out a battle plan for this week far ahead of leaving. I do have something for you. Not something I or Sandy created but something from a little group I like to call Very Tasteful Productions. I think they are out of Victoria but I could be mistaken. Anyways, they are Canadian and that is totally cool. Here is a new music video they just made: Time 4 Bed If you like that. Definitely check out the website for more funny videos and stuff. Hey folks. I decided to release the 3rd CBC Topics on Sunday night instead of Monday. I did this because Monday could possibly change my life forever. I have an audition for the only theatre school I really actually want to go to... so Monday I will probably be puking.. and then acting anyhow here you go: CBC Topics #3 I'm not sure what is actually in this episode because I left the show notes on my external machine back at home. So i finally got Sandy settled down to record Hot Topics #12. The results were disastrous. Not funny at all. But here check out how it started: Preshow #12 I'm playing around with sounds and stuff lately. I create things in Reason and then export them to Garageband and fool around with the instruments. It's pretty fun and makes some weird results. I've added some regular GB loops that seemed to fit nicely. Hey, let me know what you think! Leave a comment if you please. Whoa! CBC? As in Canadian Broadcasting Corporation?! Yes, you read that correctly, we are back on CBC Radio! Well CBC North to be exact and Steal this Show to be even more exact. Yup, this was the big announcement I had to make. The boys are back in town: CBC Hot Topics #1 I am trying to sneakily put a new cleaner version of this up but the link isn't work. So don't click that link Click this one: CBC Hot Topics 1.2 Topics Covered 1. It's wet in Vancouver 2. Nothing ever happens in Sackville 3. The election 4. Watson Lake and Whitehorse join forces! 5. Hello New Crew Basically how it all went down is I sent The Dave an email asking if I could get back to doing Hot Topics for Steal this Show. He agreed and here we are. Let me assure you, this doesn't replace the Hot Topics we are already doing. This is just a supplement and will hopefully bring new listeners to the show (and the website, where we can trick them into buying our stuff!). I'm not sure what the deal is with CBC owning anything sent to them but since I am only involved in an informal contract for this right now I see no problem posting these here.
